Hi, I'm Michael Stepner. I'm an assistant professor at the University of Toronto and a Research Principal at Opportunity Insights, a lab based at Harvard University.

My research examines the relationship between health and economic inequality. I'm especially focused on how public policy can improve the health and financial security of low-income populations.

I'd be delighted to talk to you about my work on the economics of COVID-19, or discuss the insurance value of redistributive taxes and tranfers.
